The Anglican pattern of daily prayer, accessible, convenient, and easy to use.
Prayer is essential for Christian living. It's also hard, especially when life gets crazy. The Daily Office can help. It's a discipline and resource that uses the Bible, the historical Christian faith, and the church calendar to help plant you in rich spiritual soil. It's been proven valuable by generations of Christians, and it continues to be useful today.
Daily Office for All presents the prayers from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) 2019 in a simplified online format for individuals and small groups. The BCP offers two sets of liturgies—the standard Daily Office and the much shorter Family Prayer times (useful with antsy kids).
If you need a complete, un-simplified version of the liturgies, try dailyoffice2019.com.
How to Use the App
This app is meant to be a resource for you—there's not a “right” or “wrong” way to pray the Offices. If you want a simple way to start, though:
- Open the Daily Office link for the time of day.
- Take a look at the Options, and adjust as needed.
- Pray through the prayers and read the Scriptures. If praying in a group, the responsive prayers work like this:
- The leader reads the parts with an asterisk (*).
- Everyone else reads the italicized text.
This is an ongoing project. If you have any suggestions or other feedback, please get in touch.
